Blueberry bushes

The blueberries on the tree are so small and some of the branches are dying.

Someone told me they have to crosspollenate or something.
I mean do I have to plant 2 or 3 blueberry bushes together to get them to grow better and plant 2 or 3 plum trees together to make them grow better. I didn’t mean I wanted to plant the plum tree and the blueberry bush together.

My tree took a bit of a battering when first purchased from gardening centre. It got knocked over a few times while still in the pont! This explains the brown (bruised) leaves and I assumed, once planted, that it was flowering much also as a result of the stress. However, it’s now being eaten alive [...]

We are in England, the North East, we want to grow blueberries but our soil is too alkaline. I understand that you can create the correct conditions by planting acid producing trees?

I wanted to find something that would grow near the base of our cedar tree and I know blueberries like acidic soil, so I was hoping this could be a win-win?
The Cedar tree is pruned about 10ft high with the branches coming down to about 6 ft above the ground.
