if you live where it freezes then in the winter you would probably kill them. also I don’t thing that they like a lot of humidity.

    I would reconsider.
I had them once, and the birds love them.
We had purple bird poop all over everything for months.

Don’t plant them there. You will regret it. If it’s a cloth dryer vent, the air is hot. It will hurt your plant. For the bed till in two inches of peat moss, add a sprinkling of aluminum sulfate and mulch with four inches of pine bark chips. Blueberries like an acid soil. The ph should be 4. 5 to 5 for an ideal environment. The soil should remain moist. You will get excellent blueberries doing that but not in the blast of air from a dryer.

If you use your search engine and put in “blueberry growers,” you’ll find that they are grown about everywhere — from Florida to Alaska. I live in a very cold place, to I wouldn’t plant them in front of the vent as our local varieties (2) need to freeze over the winter to survive. The dryer vent would heat them up just enough to partially thaw and then they’d freeze again, killing the plants. Since some variety or another is raised in Florida, I’d guess that they can be grown in a temperate climate with lots of humidity. Bottom like: if it freezes where you live, don’t plant them in front of the vent. If it doesn’t freeze, go ahead and see what happens. Too bad you don’t really have of way of letting us know how this turns out.
