Growing blueberries in coastal So. Calif.?

Blueberry Bushes questions and answers

Could not resist the triple pack of 3 different low chill varieties of blueberry plants at Costco. They are Emerald, Jewel, and Millennium. Our soil is sandy and alkali, so I’d like to keep them in pots and they apparently stay small enough. But I’m not sure what kind of soil to use. Peat moss is recommended, but shouldn’t it be mixed with potting soil and, if, so, what kind?.

All blueberries prefer acid soil. A mixture of potting soil, pine needles, peat moss, and a dose of Miracid to add the needed acidity is a great mix.
